MBD: Our projects

These are just a few of our projects.

St Peter & Pauls RC Primary Redland

We all really love everything that you have built for our school. The tree platform is the childrens' favourite but the wheelchair accessible stage is beautifully done too and the hanging baskets on the pergola brighten up the whole space. A big thank you to you all.

Play House showpiece for Family Attraction Show at NEC 2019

Birdwell Primary, Long Ashton

The school Friends group asked us to create some round shelters, each distinct in function and form. For stage 1 we have built a 'buddy hut' and a 'shop', both with coloured acrylic panels that create a lovely effect when the sun shines through.

Family fun Pergolas, Bristol

This large round wood pergola supports a swing seat, net, rope and childrens' swings and monkey bars.  In due course it will be draped in climbing plants.

This pergola (also with monkey bars) is a traditional oak frame construction with cloven chestnut lath fencing and Oak gate.

Wicklea Academy, Bristol BS4

We were tasked with turning a corner of fly-tipped wasteland into a dipping pond and platform with a path and ancillary works, all within a tight budget. Year 6 children help plant up the pond.

Rowan Tree Kindergarten, Bristol BS6

The children at this Steiner pre-school enjoying their new play frame, built in round wood with polyhemp rope and coir boat fenders.

St Teresa RC Primary, Bristol BS7

We are all delighted with the wonderful play structures and the lovely details including the school coat of arms on shield and flag. All the children are very excited! Thank you Chris and your team.

Amanda Pritchard, Head teacher

Victoria Park Primary, Bristol BS3

Thank you Chris and your guys for doing such a great job of turning this corner of the school into a livelier and more sensory space, full of colour and interest. I am very happy to recommend Monkey Business Design.

This circular structure has a Perspex dome skylight over an antique cart wheel roof boss. The roof is planted with wildflower turfs and sedums. This pioneering green business chose us to build an attractive outdoor space for staff to enjoy. Also included enormous raised vegetable beds, a large natural pond and lots of planting.
